High-Quality Criteria and Resources For Work-Based Learning

April 29, 12–1 p.m.

As work-based learning programs scale across Illinois, how do we ensure that school districts’ implementation prioritizes continuous improvement and equity? EdSystems has brought together a diverse, statewide advisory group of stakeholders in work-based learning to tackle this challenge in recent months. Together, they have developed a comprehensive resource outlining high-quality criteria for experiences across the work-based learning continuum as part of the Developing Quality Criteria for College and Career Pathways and Work-Based Learning project, with support from the Walton Family Foundation.

This webinar is tailored for all stakeholders engaged in work-based learning initiatives, including school districts, employers, and community partners. The high-quality criteria and associated resources will be available for public comment following the webinar.

Understanding the Possibilities: New Employer Resources for Hosting High School Internships in Manufacturing

Access to internships in the manufacturing sector remains an obstacle to achieving equity and broader access for high school students under 18, which limits the ability of students, particularly those from underrepresented groups, to envision themselves in the manufacturing industry and establish valuable social connections that can guide their postsecondary planning.
