Resources & Opportunities

Recording of Nurturing Future Talent Webinar

In today’s rapidly evolving job market, it is crucial to equip high school students with the skills and experiences they need to succeed in their future careers. Work-based learning programs and internships have emerged as effective strategies to bridge the gap between classroom education and real-world work environments. At the same time, schools are juggling many priorities, and it can be challenging to engage external partners effectively to offer these services. On March 19, 2024, Genesys Works, Junior Achievement, and their school partners shared their work to provide career exploration experiences, internships, and virtual opportunities to engage with industry mentors. Watch the recording.

Hiring for ISACorps

The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) is seeking applicants for the position of ISACorps Community Outreach Worker.  ISACorps near-peer mentors work with students and their families throughout the state as they navigate the college-going process. A concerted effort is made to reach out to first-generation college students and/or those who are low-income. ISAC hires in every region of Illinois so that the individuals being served work with someone from their area who has college experience. This is a full-time salaried opportunity in public service to the state with extensive training and career development support and tuition waivers for state universities to continue higher education. Positions are available across the state with a start date of June 2024. The job description and application are now available. Please share this outstanding opportunity widely with spring college graduates and recent alumni in your network.
