At the same time, schools are juggling many priorities, and it can be challenging to engage external partners effectively to offer these services. On March 19, 2024, Genesys Works, Junior Achievement, and their school partners shared their work to provide career exploration experiences, internships, and virtual opportunities to engage with industry mentors. ISACorps near-peer mentors work with students and their families throughout the state as they navigate the college-going process. ISAC hires in every region of Illinois so that the individuals being served work with someone from their area who has college experience. This is a full-time salaried opportunity in public service to the state with extensive training and career development support and tuition waivers for state universities to continue higher education.
