NLCP is hosting a career fair on Saturday, April 30th, from 8:30 am - 11:30 am, at our Collins Campus (1313 S. Sacramento Dr., Chicago, IL 60623). This is a wonderful opportunity for interested candidates to learn more about NLCP, meet members of the NLCP community, and participate in on-site interviews. To register, please use this link.
Background on NLCP
North Lawndale College Prep is a unique and special place. As one of the first (if not
the first) charter schools in Chicago, NLCP is a pivotal player in the school choice, educational equity, and urban school reform movements in the city. Our purpose is simple: To create transformational leaders who positively impact their communities by equipping students with the skills, and personal resilience to graduate from college. And while simple, we serve a community that has historically been left behind. As a result, our work is both challenging and rewarding.
NLCP takes the lead in this challenging work by educating with compassion and high expectations. Where other organizations simply acknowledge the social obstacles in the way, NLCP actively addresses them through creative community partnerships, and targeted programming.
The NLCP Experience
We realize the last few years has been isolating for a lot of educators, and that many of them have felt stagnant in their careers during this time. As the only public school in the city of Chicago that was safely open for in-person learning the entirety of the last two school years, we mean it when we say community, staff engagement, professional development, and health and safety are extremely important to us. They are lived values that, along with high expectations for student learning, define the NLCP experience.
