The exhibition marks our first annual INCS Student Art Exhibition & Fair. In total, we received nearly 150 art submissions from students at 29 charter schools across the state of Illinois. Students’ works of art will give viewers insight into young people’s hearts and minds. These works may also begin conversations that will help to make those dreams become reality. There is a reception on Friday, April 21st and an art fair held at the gallery on Saturday, April 22nd from 10am-2pm. Families and school communities can continue to view the art exhibition from Friday, April 21st through Sunday, April 23rd from 11am to 4pm.
All submissions will be judged by a panel of Chicago-based creative professionals and showcased as part of the exhibition at the Weinberg/Newton Gallery running from April 21-23. Prizes will be awarded for Best Use of Color, Best Artwork with a Social Message, and Best Collaborative Art as well as first, second, and third place for Grades 6-8 and 9-12.
We look forward to seeing you on Friday, April 21. For any questions, please email Kris Derek Hechevarria at khechevarria@incschools.org
