DESCRIPTION: The Loyola University Chicago School of Education is hosting their annual Wozniak Lecture Series! The series takes place in person on October 6, 2023, at the Water Tower campus in Chicago featuring three different sessions at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 6 p.m.  This year's Wozniak lecture examines the current context in our schools and communities regarding the challenges LGBTQ+ populations are facing. Taking a look at the historical path to this point in time helps us understand not only the past, but provides insight to the present day and helps us envision the future.  Session 1 at 10am: We’ve Been Here Before: Two Steps Forward, One Giant Leap Back for LGBTQ+ Inclusion Session 2 at 2pm: Representation (isn’t all that) Matters: Intersectional & Intentional Inclusion in LGBTQ+ Education Session 3 at 6pm: Meeting the Moment in LGBTQ+ Education: Reexamining the Narratives and Redirecting our Role  If your schedule permits, attendees are invited to join in the conversation and to explore how we can positively impact our family, friends and communities by supporting each other. If you are interested in attending, please register here. (If possible, please register by this Friday, September 29.)
